360 m² of new nature on sports hall in Alphen aan den Rijn

Where there was once a black roof, a lively place is now gradually emerging for insects and birds that are finding less and less space in the city. The planting consists only of native species that suit the environment and contribute to greater biodiversity.

The rooftop flower meadow helps retain rainwater, provides cooling on hot days, and extends the lifespan of the roof. The initial growth is still modest, but during the season the roof develops into a blooming spot in the middle of the city.
