Wildr Spaces brings nature to ground level

With low-maintenance, native planting, year-round flowering, and where possible the integration of water, we create spaces that enhance biodiversity and make the living environment more pleasant. Spaces provides cooling and comfort at street level, living space for insects and birds, water storage and infiltration, and attractive places for people to stay. We deliver Spaces in two complementary ways.

Working at Wildr

We are building a new standard in which nature is an integral part of the built environment. We do this together with a team of designers, ecologists, and partners who work at the intersection of nature and design.

Vegetation mats

Pre-cultivated, proven compositions that quickly and reliably establish a fully-fledged biotope. Ready to be applied to the prepared soil, for an immediate green and biodiverse result. Available in eight variants, divided into three categories. This is the proven, fast route.

A species-rich vegetation mat composed exclusively of native herbs and perennials. Milou has a natural, delicate, and varied character and is developed for sunny, relatively dry, and nutrient-poor growing locations.

A highly species-rich, fully native vegetation mat with more height, structure, and variation. Eline develops a flower-rich and natural appearance and is suitable for locations where biodiversity and a rich vegetation structure are central.

A low, native vegetation mat with a varied mix of herbs and perennials. Sien creates a natural and flower-rich appearance and is particularly suitable for dry, sunny locations where relatively low vegetation is desired.

A colorful vegetation mat featuring mainly purple, blue, pink, and white tones, complemented by warm accents. The combination of different growth habits and flowering periods creates a natural, dynamic, and long-lasting attractive appearance.

A flower-rich vegetation mat with a soft, natural appearance and plenty of variation in pink, purple, white, and blue. The combination of species with different heights, leaf structures, and flowering times creates a rich and layered effect.

A species-rich vegetation mat with over 40 native species, developed for extensive green roofs. The wide variety of species and flowering periods creates a natural and dynamic vegetation appearance with high ecological value and long-lasting significance for insects.

Custom-made special mats

Mats tailored to a special situation, where location and conditions require a unique composition.

Wadis

Vegetation mats developed for the changing conditions in swales and other climate-adaptive green spaces. The species are selected for different moisture zones, from relatively dry upper edges to locations that can be temporarily wet or saturated.

Dikes

A species-rich vegetation mat for embankments, dikes, and other sunny slopes. The combination of herbs and perennials creates a natural, flower-rich vegetation that is suitable for dry, well-drained, and relatively nutrient-poor conditions.

Customisation

A custom-made vegetation mat that is composed based on location, soil, light, moisture, and desired appearance. The combination of herbs and perennials is tailored to the specific conditions and objectives, resulting in a suitable, flower-rich vegetation with both ecological and visual quality.

Custom solutions for Mannheim

In the heart of FRANKLIN Mannheim, approximately 1,800 m² of custom-made vegetation mats have been installed for the Grüne Mitte: a striking, fully vegetated hill that forms the green centerpiece of the new district.

For the steeply sloping surfaces, we developed a project-specific vegetation mix with 36 different perennials and 7 grasses, composed entirely of species native to Germany. The vegetation mats combine high species diversity with a natural, varied appearance and limited maintenance requirements. In this way, the distinctive architecture of the Grüne Mitte becomes part of the surrounding landscape, and the vegetation contributes to the biodiversity and green identity of FRANKLIN.
